Take Your Child to Work Day – A Student’s Experience

ABS hosted Karla Pollack’s niece Olivia Martin for the Take Your Child to Work Day.  This was the 21st annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day across the country.  She attended a Women in Development breakfast program entitled Strengthening your child’s philanthropic heart, a Trenton Rotary Club meeting, and assisted with an important client mailing and creation of a blog post.  We hope she visits again!

The following is a recap of the day from Olivia:

Hi! My name is Olivia “Liv” Martin. I attend Fisher Middle School and I’m in the 7th grade. My experience for “Take your child to work day” was amazing. My Aunt Karla had taken me and let me help her out for the day. Not only was I helping but I had fun doing it as well. Thank you so much for giving me the chance of being a part of your daily routine here!  😛

Women in Development’s April Roundtable was planned around the theme, Take Your Child to Work Day. Attendees explored the concept of strengthening your child’s philanthropic heart.  Carrie Wainwright and Edna Friman led a A Children’s Philanthropic Exercise where Olivia and the other students created a special mosaic art piece that was donated to The Trenton Circus Squad for their auction fundraiser. Children received a special certificate for their attendance.
