New Jersey General Assembly Honors Ombudsman

On December 8, the New Jersey General Assembly presented Ombudsman Paul Aronsohn with a special legislative resolution honoring his service as New Jersey’s first Ombudsman for Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities and Their Families. Marking the conclusion of a historic 7-year tenure that spans the duration of Governor Phil Murphy’s administration, the recognition celebrated his tireless advocacy and commitment to vulnerable residents across the state.

Legislative Disability Caucus Co-Chair Assemblywoman Aura K. Dunn, alongside Caucus members Assemblyman Alex Sauickie, Assemblywoman Michele Matsikoudis, and Assemblywoman Carol Murphy, formally presented the Resolution during the Assembly session. Friends, colleagues, and community advocates gathered to recognize Aronsohn’s foundational work in establishing the office and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
