Losing a loved one and suffering through that loss can often be cause for a serious evaluation of one’s life.
For Bolton resident, Kelley Potter, the greatest loss she has experienced in her life has catapulted her into a new adventure to help others power through their own losses. …
“She talked about the privilege and the idea of telling a person’s story and honoring them and I thought it was kind of exactly what I had been thinking but I didn’t know what to call it,” she explained.
Potter saw that the woman had studied at a place called the Celebrant Foundation and Institute which is based out of New Jersey and offers long distance learning course that trains individuals to officiate at, compose and perform personalized ceremonies for couples, individuals and organizations.
Seven months later, Potter is now officially a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant focusing on funerals and weddings, as well as becoming ordained.
